We are excited to now offer preserve style pheasant hunts here at The Rut 'N Strut Lodge. These are great hunts for anyone looking for guaranteed bird encounters. These hunts are conducted on 1200 acres near our lodge enrolled in a "Controlled Shooting area (CSA)". Pheasants are released on this property prior to the hunt (70% roosters, 30% Hens). Hunting within the CSA allows for an extended season (September 1st -April 30th), the opportunity to shoot both roosters and hens and no harvest limits. A special "CSA"hunting license ($27.50) or a standard KS hunting license is all that is needed to be able to hunt. These hunts are offered as both DIY unguided or fully guided.

UNGUIDED DIY
Birds will be released prior to your arrival. You will be shown to the property. You will then be on your own. Use of your own dogs is encouraged.

(8am-12pm or 1pm-5pm)

Full Day

- $275/person
*Lodging (no food) is available before and/or after your hunt for $75/person/night.
*Unlimited number of additional pheasants can be purchased for release at $20/bird.
FULLY GUIDED
(Minimum of 3 hunters, max 8 hunters)
Birds will be released prior to your arrival. A guide with bird dogs will then accompany you for the entire hunt. You may also bring and hunt your own dog(s). Non-Alcoholic drinks, snacks and a light lunch will be provided as well as bird cleaning and packaging.

*Lodging the night before your hunt then a breakfast prior to your hunt is available for an additional $100/person.
*Unlimited number of additional pheasants can be purchased for release at $20/bird.
